We Got Married! Photos from our wedding.
My website has been neglected for the last few months because I was super busy planning our wedding. Frank and I were supposed to get married in the summer of 2020 but we, like many of others had to postpone because of the pandemic. We pushed it off a few months at a time until we decided on July 2021.
Originally, we had over a hundred people invited, but the rules in Quebec changed every time we turned around. It was so stressful trying to plan a supper with friends, let alone a wedding. Frank and I decided we wanted to make a concrete plan so we would just have our immediate family and a couple of friends at the wedding.
We had the ceremony outside at Frank’s parents’ property and had the reception in a large tent. We had a best man and a maid of honour and our four children in our wedding party. It was very intimate and romantic.
We did a sand ritual as part of our ceremony. Frank, his two girls, my two boys and I all had our own colour of sand. We poured the sand into a glass container to symbolize the blending of our family. The six of us individually coming together to become one family. It felt very special.
The weather was perfect for our day. Warm but not hot, sunny but not too bright for photos. We were thrilled with our day. Our photographer, Jessica Goodsell, did an amazing job with our photos. We couldn’t be more pleased.
We had a wonderful meal and a fun time dancing in the evening. We even had fireworks that the kids really enjoyed.
It was the perfect country wedding and we are so happy to finally be married. 🙂
Now that the wedding planning is complete, I have jumped back into working on my novel. It took a back burner for a while but it is now my priority again. After the wedding, I finished up my edits with my beta readers’ suggestions and have officially sent it off to my professional editor! This is another exciting milestone on my author journey.
I am going to post on this website regularly again. My next write up will be about the adventures we had on our honeymoon. Stay tuned!
Has the pandemic affected the weddings of anyone you know? Have you been to a wedding since this all began?
